By Michelle & Alan — 35 Years Strong
Some beginnings are small.
Ours began on a quiet drive through Miami.
Alan and I were looking out the window when a sign caught our eye:
Tropic.
A simple word — but in that moment, it stirred something in both of us.
It felt fresh.
It felt bold.
It felt different.
It felt ours.
We looked at each other, almost reading each other’s mind, and said:
“What if we spelled it with an X… Tropix?”
That X felt unexpected.
Exciting.
Expressive.
Exactly how we felt in that moment — daring, hopeful, and ready to create something new.
Two island kids — Alan from Long Island, me from Nassau — dreaming of building something rooted in home but brave enough to reach beyond it.
We didn’t know then that this name would carry us for decades.
We started small, with a Cherokee 6.
Then came the Aztec, then the Islander, and eventually the first Caravan.
Every airplane represented a season:
A season of faith.
A season of struggle.
A season of learning.
A season of growth.
There were tough years — the kind that test your heart, your finances, and your belief in yourself.
But those seasons also taught us resilience, humility, and the power of God’s quiet protection.
And now, 35 years later, we are expanding again — adding another Caravan to our fleet.
When we look back at that drive in Miami, that one sign, that one moment of inspiration…
we see how far God has carried us.
We see two young dreamers becoming builders.
We see a company shaped by storms and survivors.
We see an island-born airline still standing — still growing — still believing.
Look how far we’ve come.
From one word on a sign…
to a vision…
to Tropix Air.
And the journey continues.
